Gladwin Pantastico is a Filipino Classical Guitarist who was awarded top prize in the University of the Philippines “Gitara” Competition which was sponsored by the Spanish Embassy in Manila in 1999. He also received 2nd prize in the National Music Competition for Young Artists, Classical Guitar category in 2002 at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.

Under the tutelage of Professor Ruben F. Reyes, Gladwin received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music at the University Of Santo Tomas Conservatory Of Music in the Philippines in 2004. He also received the highest grade on his recital where he performed Leo Brouwer’s “Concerto de Toronto” and Alberto Ginastera’s “Sonata for Guitar”.

In 2003, he performed the Philippine premier of Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concerto Madrigal for Two Guitars” with UST Symphony Orchestra and Castelnuovo Tedesco’s “Concerto in D” with the University of the Philippines Chamber Orchestra in 1999.

He actively participated in various music festivals including the annual “UST Summer Music Camp” and International Guitar Festivals in the Philippines and Thailand. He also played as a member of the premier guitar ensembles in the Philippines, The UST Guitar Ensemble and The UST Guitar Quartet. He has also performed as a resident classical guitarist for the Banyan Tree and Angsana Resorts in the Maldives from 2004 – 2011.

Gladwin is currently teaching classical guitar and guitar ensemble in Tanglewood music school in Singapore.
